Goodness it’s been a while. Here is a selection of furry snippets from the past few days.

Run With The Fox
It’s that time of the year again, and the immensely talented I Am The Manic Whale have released a delightfully geeky cover version of the late, great Chris Squire’s 1981 “Run With The Fox.” This is the only sort of Christmas tune I can endorse!
Here’s the original…
Lord Viking
Princess Wandacakes only gets a cameo appearance this post because she was too lazy to get up. Lord Viking pretended to be disinterested, as is his wont, but he eventually gave it up for the camera a couple of times. The little shit.

Star Trails
Another cool feature of my Nikon P1000 – it can take long exposure timelapses and stitch them together.
In this example I woke up early (or was woken up early by a certain ginger Princess) so got up to make coffee at about 5am and decided to stick the camera outside for a while.
The process takes 25-second exposures for a total of 150 minutes and then automatically stitches them, so you get the stars showing their gradual movement (well, it’s Earth’s movement, but you know what I mean) through the sky.
If I had the patience, and if the sun wasn’t about to come up, I would have let it go for longer. But I think this pic is still quite nice.

Table Service
Lord Viking always eats at the table. He’s a good boy.

Timelapse
I’ve had my Nikon P1000 for nearly a year and have only just started to read the manual. It has some quite interesting features, like being able to create time lapse videos. This one was taken over 25 minutes, facing South-ish.
Paddock Adventures
Lord Viking decided to frolick in the paddock. I joined him to document the special occasion.
Near And Far
Lord Viking was busy doing his own thing on the far side of the paddock. Meanwhile Princess Wandacakes was being her best relaxo-self in our bedroom.
It’s interesting (to us at least) how different their personalities are. Viking spends most of his time outdoors, patrolling the borders to keep up safe. Meanwhile Wanda spends most of her time inside, sitting with us.
As the seasons change we find them both spending more time outdoors though. Soon they will disappear from our laps in the evening, preferring to spend the warm nights sniffing, lurking and pouncing.
I do enjoy Summers, but I miss their company more.

Snuggles
It’s unusual to see the children laying so close to each other. Maybe old age has mellowed them.
Princess Wandacakes And A Little Bit Of Lord Viking
If this is the shape of things to come for our New Zealand Summer, perhaps 2020 hasn’t been a complete write-off after all.
